Hidden leaks inside walls or under floors are the most expensive plumbing problem to ignore, because the damage compounds silently.
Watch for: an unexplained rise in your water bill, a faint damp smell in one area of the house, a warm patch on the floor (often a hot water line), peeling paint or bubbling on a wall with no visible water source, and the sound of running water when every tap is off.
In Islamabad’s older DHA and G-sector properties, galvanized pipe corrosion is a common hidden-leak cause; in newer Bahria Town construction, it is more often a poorly sealed fitting joint.
A plumber can usually trace a hidden leak with a pressure test and acoustic detection in under an hour — far cheaper than waiting for visible damage to appear.
